# Meeting Minutes: Technical Steering Committee

## Proposal to Remove `quiet` From Kernel Command Line

Natanael acted as the chair during this item due to Carlo joining late. The TSC
rejected the proposal to remove `quiet` from the kernel command line on release
media (5 votes against, 3 votes for).

The `quiet` argument is typically removed temporarily for debugging purposes.
In order to make debugging more convenient, it was suggested to add a new boot
loader entry (e.g. `lts-debug`), where `quiet` would be replaced by
`debug_init`, enabling debug messages from initramfs too.

## Recording of TSC Meetings

The TSC decided not to record its meetings for reasons mostly pertaining to
personal privacy.

To ensure common understanding, it is the responsibility of the chair to
reiterate the decision before moving on to the next agenda item. The scribe
should record the decision accurately.

## Publication of TSC Meeting Agendas

A [GitLab board](https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/tsc/-/boards/697) is
used to communicate the agenda of the next meeting. The chair is responsible
for ordering the issues according to their priorities before the meeting. The
chair should send an e-mail invitation to the meeting containing the URL of the
board.

## TSC Meeting Times

The next meetings will be held as follows:

* Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 15:15 UTC (chair: Kaarle, scribe: Sören)
* Monday, September 13, 2021 at 16:00 UTC (chair: Sören, scribe: Timo)

Kevin will make a proposal on how to select the timeslot for future meetings
such that each TSC member has regularly a chance to attend. He suggested
everyone verify the availability data is correct in the spreadsheet he shared.

It was decided that meetings will not be held on weekends.
